New York Education Department Board of Mental Health Counseling CE Information

Each LMHC must complete 36 hours of approved continuing education courses for each triennial registration period. No more than 12 hours of continuing education activities in any 36 month period, or one-third of the total hours in periods of other length, may consist of self-study educational activities from New York State Education Department approved providers.

Impact CE offers both self-paced and live courses. 12 hours can be self-paced, 24 must be live.

The New York State Education Department approval will be indicated on each course page on the CE approval tab.

For registration periods starting on or after April 1, 2023, licensees have to complete 3 credits of coursework in appropriate boundaries.
