Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

(a) A two hour course in prevention of medical errors each biennium; (b) A one hour course in HIV/AIDS in the first biennium only; (c) A two hour course in Florida laws and rules each biennium; (d) A two hour course in recognizing impairment in the workplace every other biennium thereafter; (e) A two hour course on human trafficking, and each biennium thereafter; (f) A two hour course in domestic violence every third biennium (This is in addition to the 24 hours needed for Renewal). (g) a three hour course in Safe and Effective Prescription of Controlled Substances Rule 64B9-4.020(4), FAC, requires that registered Autonomous APRNs complete 10 additional hours of approved courses at the graduate level (Nurse Practitioner or continuing medical education) beyond the usual 24 hours.
