All licenses issued by the Board of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy expire on June 30 of even-numbered years regardless of when issued, except new licenses issued within 90 days of the expiration date which will be issued to the next biennium.

ALASKA OT/OTA CE REQUIREMENTS

An occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant who has been licensed for 12 months or more of the concluding licensing period must:

Complete 24 hours of continuing education during that period; OR

Have evidence of current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

An occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant who has been licensed for less than 12 months of the concluding licensing period must:

Complete 12 hours of continuing education during that period and

Pass the national occupational therapy examination during the 12 months immediately before the date that the applicant’s license is due to lapse; OR

Have evidence of current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Any course accepted by Alaska State Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Board - Occupational Therapy is applicable to the OT credential.
