About the Course

The authors of this article call for a revision the psychiatric strategy of "start low and go slow" and waiting six to eight weeks to adjust treatment for Major Depressive Disorder. This article provides rationale for earlier and more aggressive treatment strategies for treatment of Major Depressive Disorder. The authors provide recommendations for how to use these strategies in patient-centered clinical care for clients presenting with depressive complaints.

Oloruntoba J. Oluboka, MD

Dr. Oluboka is a clinical assistant professor at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He has published multiple articles in peer reviewed journals.

Martin A. Katzman, MD

Dr. Katzman is the Clinic Director and Staff Psychiatrist at the S.T.A.R.T. Clinic (Stress, Trauma, Anxiety, Rehabilitation and Treatment) for Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Jeffery Habert, MD

Dr. Habert has been a Family Physician in Thornhill for the last 30 years. He is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Habert is published in the areas of Depression, ADHD, ADPKD and has also lectured provincially and nationally on these topics.

Paul Pawlicki, PsyD, LP

Paul Pawlicki, PsyD, received his degree in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL, in 2005. From 2004-2006, he taught courses in general psychology, abnormal psychology, and human sexuality at Collin College in Plano, TX. He currently practices individual therapy at the Department of Sexual Medicine at Park Nicollet Health Health Services near Minneapolis, MN.

Counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and social workers. This course is appropriate for all levels of knowledge.
