About the Course

This systematic review and meta-analysis explores the prevalence of intimate partner violence (IPV) among men who have sex with men (MSM). The study synthesizes data from 52 studies encompassing 32,048 participants to quantify the prevalence of IPV victimization and perpetration, including physical, emotional, and sexual violence. Findings reveal high IPV prevalence, with emotional violence being the most common. The analysis highlights significant heterogeneity across studies and underscores the need for tailored prevention and intervention programs to address IPV in the MSM population, improve their quality of life, and reduce the associated public health burden.

This course is based on the reading online article, Prevalence of Intimate Partner Violence Among Men Who Have Sex With Men created by Min Liu, MSc et al in 2021.
