This 3-hour introductory course explores the foundations of ecotherapy, a nature-based approach to healing that integrates principles from both ancient wisdom traditions and modern psychology. Participants will learn core ecotherapy practices such as nature walks, sit spots, eco-art, and grounding techniques. The course also covers how to safely and ethically incorporate natural elements into both indoor and outdoor therapeutic settings. Emphasis is placed on understanding the benefits and potential risks of nature-based therapy, developing safety protocols, and differentiating ecotherapy from traditional clinical approaches. Ideal for mental health professionals, coaches, and wellness practitioners interested in bringing the healing power of nature into their work.

Charlton Hall, MMFT, PhD, LMFT is the current Executive Director of the Mindful Ecotherapy Center, LLC. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a certified Sandtray Expressive Arts Therapist, and a Certified Hypnotherapist. Charlton Hall’s area of research and interest is using Mindfulness and Ecotherapy to facilitate acceptance and change strategies within a family systemic framework, and he has presented research at several conferences and seminars on this and other topics.
