North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board CE Information

Our distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by the NCSAPPB.

Renewal
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
60 hours required, 30 must by substance abuse specific, 3 in HIV/AIDS, and 3 in professional ethics. 3 hours, in any combination, covering the following topics: nicotine dependence, psychopathology, evidence-based treatment approaches, substance abuse issues in older adults, substance abuse issues affecting veterans.
Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS)
40 hours required, 30 must by substance abuse specific,3 in HIV/AIDS, and 3 in professional ethics. 3 hours, in any combination, covering the following topics: nicotine dependence, psychopathology, evidence-based treatment approaches, substance abuse issues in older adults, substance abuse issues affecting veterans.

Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) 60 hours every two years in CCJP performance domains.
Domain #1 — Dynamics of Addiction and Criminal Behavior,
Domain #2 — Legal, Ethical, and Professional Responsibility,
Domain #3 — Criminal Justice System and Processes
Domain #4 — Screening, Intake and Assessment,
Domain #5 — Case Management, Monitoring, and Client Supervision,
Domain #6 — Counseling (a minimum of 10 hours in each domain)
Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), 15 hours

Our distant learning courses are available for 100% of required hours for initial NCSAPPB certification.
